10th Annual FOSL Winter Program and Silent Auction - Free and Open to the Public

12:00 pm, Wed February 13, 2008 –

Columbus, OH Join the Friends of Stone Laboratory (FOSL) and the Ohio Sea Grant College Program at their 10th Annual Winter Program and Silent Auction from 7:00 – 9:00 pm Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at Ohio State University’s Fawcett Center.

The program includes presentations from Chris Winslow, FOSL president; Aloah Pope, Buckeye FOSL student organization president; and Dr. Jeff Reutter, Ohio Sea Grant Director. The featured presentation "Why our Collective Work is So Important" will be given by Chris Korleski, Director of the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.

In addition, a silent auction will be held beginning at 7:00 pm to benefit the Friends of Stone Lab, a non-profit group that supports Stone Lab programs and scholarships. Auction items include tickets to various cultural activities, travel opportunities, signed limited edition prints, items for the home and office, meals at local restaurants, and variety of items for OSU fans (payment by cash or check please; credit cards cannot be accepted). Stone Laboratory, located on Gibraltar Island, Put-in-Bay, Ohio, is the oldest freshwater biological field station in the country (1895) and The Ohio State University’s Island Campus. The Ohio Sea Grant College Program is part of the National Sea Grant College Program, NOAA. The program uses a combination of research, education, and outreach to address Lake Erie issues related to the environment, education, and the economy in collaboration with government, academia, and the private sector.
