Free transportation to Gibraltar Island will be provided from the Ohio State University's Research Building on South Bass Island next to the Aquatic Visitors Center, formerly the state fish hatchery. Guests will enjoy tours of the 6.5-acre island, including a view of Cooke Castle; lectures and laboratory sessions; and historical photos, summer class information, and publications. Tours of historic South Bass Island Lighthouse and the Aquatic Visitors Center will also be available, but transportation will not be provided.

Since its creation in 1981, FOSL has raised more than $1 million in endowments; purchased equipment; supported scholarships for over 500 students; and funded research assistants and visiting professors.
