192: Stone Laboratory Announces Guest Lecture Schedule

194: Marinas Support Growing Effort to Recycle Boat Shrink Wrap

Thanks to the innovative Shrink-Wrap recycling program more than one million pounds of plastic marine shrink wrap have been recycled and made into highway guardrail blocks that help make roadways safer and reduce landfill content.

195: LEMTA Supports Ohio Sea Grant through Lake Erie Day Proceeds

Thanks to the offer by LEMTA to donate one dollar from each ticket purchased on Lake Erie Day at the Cleveland Mid-America Boat & Fishing Show in January, Sea Grant has received a check for nearly $1,500.

197: Small Harbors Coalition Requests Local Support for Resolution

198: Faster-Growing Yellow Perch Could Make Aquaculture More Viable

March 1, 2010

Fish farmers interested in growing yellow perch may soon have a faster-growing option that could also decrease pressure on wild populations, thanks to Ohio Sea Grant researcher Hanping Wang. By selectively breeding the fish, Wang has developed yellow perch stocks that grow 28% to 42% faster than the typical fish.
