John Hageman is the manager of Ohio State University's aquatic biology station, F.T. Stone Laboratory in Put-in-Bay on Lake Erie and an associate Sea Grant Extension Agent. His duties include providing support for the summer college classes, planning and overseeing the spring and fall aquatic science workshop program, conducting facilities tours and annual seasonal staff hiring and training.

He serves as a member of the State Council of Pheasants Forever, Secretary of the Erie-Ottawa-Sandusky Co. chapter and co-chairs the Lake Erie Islands Chapter of Ducks Unlimited membership committee. He is the "Ohio Wetlands" committee chair of the Ohio Chapter of the American Fisheries Society, co-chair of the Ohio Lake Erie Office's Coastweeks underwater clean up and served on the local "Ohio Bicentennial" celebration committee. John is a member of the Outdoor Writers of Ohio and a licensed ice fishing guide, recognized by the Ohio Division of Wildlife.

John received a bachelor's degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Management from The Ohio State University's School of Natural Resources in 1983 and has served the University since 1977 and Stone Laboratory since 1987.
