Ohio Sea Grant College Program
and Stone Laboratory

Ohio Sea Grant and Stone Laboratory

Costs

Exclamation! All rates listed are subject to change! Costs associated with attending Stone Laboratory include Ohio State tuition, room and meals, and a laboratory fee of $25 (with some exceptions) for each course. Other costs from Ohio State may include health insurance and application and acceptance fees. Students are responsible for transportation to and from the laboratory, books, supplies, and spending money.

A. Tuition

The tuition charts (below) apply if a student is enrolled through Ohio State. Tuition is based on the state of residence and the number and level (graduate or undergraduate) of credit hours taken. If a student is registering at another university, that university's tuition rate applies. There is a financial benefit to enrolling for a full course load; i.e., there is no additional cost per credit over 12 credit hours each quarter. Students must receive permission from their college office before registering for more than 20 hours.

B. Room and Meals

Ohio State's University Housing provides Stone Laboratory students with room and meals. Students are required to live in University housing on Gibraltar Island and sign a contract for the period of enrollment. Accommodations are available for single men and women, limited housing may be available for married students, and no housing is available for children.
The dining commons provides 20 meals each week. Separate menus cannot be provided to accommodate special diets because of our remote location and small kitchen staff.
